Inktober 2017 - Day 1 - Steven Toast
Day 1 - Steven Toast (Matt Berry)
Chosen Theme - Famous Film/Television personalities
Okay, so it's October, which means Inktober has begun!
Never heard of it? Well, it's pretty straightforward my friend. For those of you who are fellow artists, it's this great personal challenge you can take part in. All you gotta do is create a new ink drawing/painting every day for the month of October, and post it online with the hashtag #inktober and #inktober2017. Easy-peasy lemon squeezy! You don't even have to be a professional artist. Anybody can join the fun!
The challenge was created by a very talented illustrator fellow named Mr. Jake Parker. He created Inktober in 2009 as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year.
For those inky brown nosers who interested in upping the ante, you can even create your daily artwork using the official prompt list found on the Inktober web page. You can visit the official site here: http://mrjakeparker.com/inktober
As for me, this year I've decided to draw 31 personalities / famous people from my favourite film & television series... starting with Steven Toast in the delightful comedy television series Toast Of London, played by actor Matt Berry. The show is funny, ridiculous and right up my alley. And currently, is streaming on Netflix Canada.
I'd love to hear comments about Inktober, or artist challenges you've taken part in. Share & Comment below!
